We all become a little wary on April first, keeping an eye out for some prank or other. But you don’t really expect it from Google. Almost every year they’ve launched a ‘new’ service, promising to revolutionise some form of searching. Their last few April Fool jokes are still online, in case you missed them first time:

Portrait Train-Wrecks
Tuesday, March 24th, 2009 | humor, photography | No Comments
Looking at home snaps and family portraits can be amongst the most tedious of tasks that a person will ever endure in their life. Think about excited parents displaying the latest family shot, or the co-worker who shows you their precious wallet photos. It’s torturous. However, give it a few years and those very-same photo-implements of torture become more statements about the prevailing portrait and fashion style than objects of (dis-)affection. Sexy People holds a collection of single, sibling and family portraits that draw the viewer in. I find a moribund fascination within me wanting to see more and more of these portrait train-wrecks.

Saturday Night Live Transcripts
Friday, November 14th, 2008 | humor | No Comments
For the hardened, obsessive fan, watching a TV program is not enough. They must read the transcripts over, and act out the characters in their heads, pick up on any puns that were missed, and generally bask in the glory of the written word.
If your program of obsession happens to be Saturday Night Live, then you are in luck. You can view the transcripts for almost every single scene of every single program from 1975 to the latest episode. Indulge yourself at SNL Transcripts. Is there any other comparable reference available for any other series out there?

Do I Look Gay In This? SuperHeroes Ask.
Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008 | humor | No Comments
Some Superheroes start to worry about their costumes…
Many of us boys grew up watching these guys, and even wanted to be like them, some of us even got the costumes to wear so we could be just like them. So, like Sam Anderson writing in Slate, you’re probably wondering what that says about your sexuality…
Tell The Rain What You Really Think
Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 | humor | 1 Comment
Having been raised in Ireland, I’ve seen my fair share of rain. And the truth is that you never get used to it. You accept it. You grow accustomed to arriving wet, no matter how ‘waterproof’ your overcoat and shoes are. And sometimes it’s a real pain in the ass. Introducing a new profane umbrella from Art Lebedev studios that let’s the rain know what you think of it.
I can see these selling well in Ireland.
